As a small business owner and proud member of the Mead community, I am honored to endorse Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead.

Running a restaurant is never easy, but during COVID, it became incredibly difficult. Like many small business owners, I faced uncertainty, financial pressure, changing regulations, and the very real fear of losing everything my family had worked so hard to build.

During that time, Colleen Whitlow stepped up. She reached out, listened, provided resources, made connections, and helped us navigate the constantly changing challenges facing our business.

Colleen’s support of Ranchero’s Mexican Restaurant was more than appreciated. It made a real difference. Her willingness to show up and help local businesses during one of the most difficult periods we have ever faced is something I will always remember.

As a legal immigrant and the owner of a minority-owned business, I also appreciate Colleen’s respect for small business owners from all backgrounds. She listens to our concerns, respects our voices, and follows through.

Colleen understands that local restaurants, shops, and small businesses are more than businesses. They are part of what makes a community strong.

I am proud to support Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead. I know her as a leader who shows up, listens, and cares about the people and businesses that make Mead home.

To the Voters of Mead,

As a lifelong Colorado corn farmer, retired firefighter, and someone who cares deeply about the future of agriculture and rural communities across our state, I am proud to endorse Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead.

I have come to know Colleen as someone who understands the importance of service. She is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served our country with honor and continues to serve her community through her work at the local and state levels.

As Mayor of Mead, Colleen has demonstrated a commitment to listening, working hard, and following through. Her involvement on regional and state advisory boards reflects her dedication to the issues that matter to Colorado communities, including agriculture, infrastructure, public safety, and responsible growth.

Colleen understands that agriculture is more than an industry. It is part of Colorado’s heritage, economy, and way of life. She has consistently supported farmers, ranchers, and landowners and understands the importance of private property rights, water rights, and protecting the ability of agricultural producers to continue doing what they do best.

What I appreciate about Colleen is that she listens. She takes the time to understand an issue, respects the people affected by decisions, and works to find practical solutions.

Her service also extends beyond government. Colleen has been deeply involved in honoring our military and Gold Star Families, including her work with the Northern Colorado Gold Star Families Memorial and Plaza. Her support of the All-American Beef Battalion also reflects her respect for the connection between agriculture, veterans, and the families who serve our country.

Colleen has worn the uniform, understands the hard work of those who work the land, and has spent years serving her community. She understands the importance of agriculture, landowners, first responders, veterans, and families.

I am proud to support Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead and appreciate her continued commitment to the community she serves.

Mike Lefever

Colorado Corn Farmer and Retired Firefighter

It is with great pride that I endorse Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead.

I have had the privilege of knowing Colleen for more than 20 years, and throughout that time, I have seen her commitment to service, her strong work ethic, and her dedication to the principles she believes in.

Colleen understands the importance of individual liberty, personal responsibility, economic opportunity, and local control. She also understands the realities facing small businesses because she and her husband are small business owners themselves. That firsthand experience gives her a practical understanding of the challenges businesses face from regulations, rising costs, and an increasingly complicated economic environment.

As Mayor of Mead, Colleen has remained focused on responsible budgeting, accountability, and making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. She believes government should be transparent, responsive, and focused on serving the people rather than political agendas.

Colleen also understands that Mead’s future depends on responsible growth while protecting the community’s character and the values that make Mead a special place to call home.

What I respect most about Colleen is that she does not simply talk about service. She puts in the work. She listens, she shows up, and she remains engaged with the community and the issues that matter to Mead families, businesses, and property owners.

I am proud to endorse Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead and to support her continued service to the community she calls home.

Heath Carroll

Former Owner and Consultant, Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremations

I am proud to endorse my friend, Colleen Whitlow, for re-election as Mayor of Mead.

I have known Colleen for many years, and throughout that time I have been continually impressed by her character, integrity, and genuine commitment to serving others.

Colleen has spent much of her life serving others, from her military service and years in local government to the countless ways she has volunteered and invested in our community. She doesn’t simply show up when it is convenient. She consistently puts service before self, and that commitment is evident in the way she approaches her role as Mayor.

As a former Rotarian, business leader, and real estate entrepreneur, I have had the opportunity to work alongside many leaders over the years. What stands out about Colleen is that she lives the values she talks about. She listens to people, works to find solutions, and genuinely cares about the community she serves.

Her faith, family, and strong sense of responsibility shape the way she approaches life and public service. She understands that being Mayor is not just about making decisions. It is about listening to residents, bringing people together, working through challenges, and being willing to put in the time to move Mead forward.

I’m proud to endorse Colleen Whitlow for Mayor of Mead.

Lee Peterson

Candidate, Town of Mead Trustee

I am proud to endorse Colleen Whitlow for re-election as Mayor of Mead.

I support Colleen because she understands that growth, when managed responsibly, can strengthen our community, create jobs, attract investment, support local businesses, and expand the tax base without sacrificing the values that make Mead special.

Like many residents, Colleen would love to keep Mead as rural as possible. However, she also recognizes the reality facing many longtime farming families. When families decide to stop farming, it is not the government's role to tell them what they can do with land they have invested in, worked, and cared for over generations. For many, that land is their retirement, built through years of hard work, sacrifice, risk, and perseverance. They deserve the opportunity to realize the value of that investment.

Colleen understands that balancing growth with preserving Mead's character is not easy. It requires thoughtful leadership, fiscal responsibility, and long-term planning. She believes growth should benefit the entire community, not come at the expense of existing residents.

One of the reasons I support Colleen is her commitment to ensuring that development pays for the infrastructure needed to support it. In a growing town like Mead, new development must contribute to roads, utilities, public safety, parks, and other essential services rather than shifting those costs to taxpayers. Colleen has consistently worked to make sure growth pays its fair share.

Based on her record and the many accomplishments she has achieved as Mayor, I fully support Colleen Whitlow. She has demonstrated her commitment to balancing Mead’s small-town quality of life with the thoughtful progress needed to move our community forward.

John Diak

Mayor Pro Tem, Town of Parker

My children attended Mead schools and I unequivocally endorse Colleen Whitlow for Mayor of Mead.

I have watched Mayor Whitlow bring enduring and beautiful changes to Mead during her tenure as Mayor. Ziggi’s HQ, the Co-op store and fuel, and the peaceful church park replacing a dilapidated non-functioning fuel station are all the result of a visionary Mayor and engaged Board of Trustees. The three corners on Welker now SERVE the COMMUNITY!

Mayor Whitlow has recruited a recreation center, a Fire House for the Mountain View Fire District, a brand NEW LIBRARY, and an appropriately sized stand- alone police station soon to begin construction.

As a faithful leader at DRCOG and CDOT Coalitions, Mayor Whitlow has ensured safe travel for all her constituents, including developmental rework of the intersection of CR7 and Hwy 66 that will impact safety for generations of Mead and neighboring drivers on an accident prone roadway.

These changes have brought more residents out safely into the Community and I anticipate greater health, happiness, and engagement for the Town. I am proud my Ward is Mead’s closest neighbor!

Don’t let this one get away until all her terms are fulfilled! Re-Elect Whitlow!
